Honda Baseball Game

On Saturday we took a family trip to the state called Saitama for a company baseball game. It was Honda electrical group versus another company called Toyo Denso. They are a supplier to Honda. So apparently we have a small rivalry every year where we play a baseball game. So I was invited to join the game this year and I played 1st base.

The kids watched a little bit of baseball. But there was also a playground nearby so they would rather do that. Also there was an airforce base nearby and they were doing some practice formations overhead every so often. We couldn’t grab a pic unfortunately, but it was cool to see.

Then after the game, because we were close, we went to Costco! It was really similar to American Costco. The best part was that they had Honey Nut Cheerios. So now we have Frosted Flakes and Honey Nut Cheerios as our American cereal options.

Also we found out that Duracell stole the Energizer Bunny mascot in Japan…

I really hope you taught everyone about the sultan of swat, the king of crash, the colossus of clout, the great bambino! How do you say pitchers got a big butt in Japanese?

In all seriousness, that is awesome you got to play with them! I am sure that was an awesome time!

Dude, that’s all I wanted to say was “pitcher’s got a big butt”! But the culture of baseball in Japan is something I realized I had no clue about. I couldn’t even cheer for anyone because I realized I didn’t know what to say without sounding weird. They had all their own chants and ways of saying things. They used a lot of English words, probably because they learned them from American baseball. But they used the English words all wrong. It was a good experience though.
