Ibaraki Beach

When we woke up last Sunday, we really only planned on going to see the steam locomotive and then spend the day around town.

But after we did that we wanted to do more! So we decided to drive to the beach! Its actually only an hour away and an easy drive. But we hadn’t made the trip since we’ve lived here. Plus there’s a Costco there, so we can be productive at the same time. It was pretty chilly and windy the entire time. But we brought the kite that Caroline and I made as a project for her school. It was so easy to fly it with all the wind. We just stood there and it would take off. Caroline enjoyed chasing the water out then running back up the beach before she got wet. We dipped our feet in a bit, but it was too cold to do any more than that. Get ready for a bunch of pictures.

Oh yeah, and there was this…

ハチロク

And after all that, we made it home by about 6:30pm I think. Its pretty awesome living this close to the mountains and the ocean. But we still miss the Ohio cornfields sometimes.

That kite looks awesome! It seems like she Caroline does something awesome at her school just about every week! And there’s a lot of family involvement, too. I love hearing the kindergarten stories… and remembering how kids had shovels and were digging holes at recess. So much hands on learning!

Call me gullible, but I actually can’t tell if you were serious… are you missing the cornfields a bit?
