Strawberry Picking

This past Sunday our friends from Yokohama came up to visit and stay the night. The two girls were in Caroline and Nathan’s school back in Ohio. Their dad was on assignment at the Ohio State Medical Center and they just moved back to Japan in December. So we invited them over to visit. Its a crazy small world. The emperors birthday was on Sunday, but it was celebrated on Monday along with Heather’s birthday. Most people had the day off work. Unfortunately, not Honda. So I had to work. But Caroline didn’t have school, and since our friends were in town they all decided to go strawberry picking. Its a little different than Lynd’s fruit farm because you aren’t allowed to take any strawbs with you unless they are in your belly. Everyone ate their fair share, but Nathan was in his happy place. He loves strawberries and this place was a dream. The greenhouses were really warm inside so they had to keep stepping out to cool down a bit. Also it was not crowded at all, which is pretty crazy for a holiday in Japan.

After hunting for strawbs, they all went out for Utsunomiya’s famous dish, gyoza. We have never been to this place, and Heather claims it was delicious.

What is Nathan Doing?
