Plum Blossoms

The Plum Blossoms aren’t as pretty as cherry blossoms, but they are still pretty cool. And they smell amazing. They are just now starting to bloom around Utsunomiya. They are the first sign of spring and when their flowers fall off that’s when the cherry blossoms start. So we went to a park near our house with a cool grove of plum trees. While we were there, we also found a little bamboo forest. Not really a forest, but the kids thought they might see some pandas in there.

The park also has some regular playground equipment in addition to the plum blossoms. So the kids enjoyed that for a while.

And actually before we did all that, we got up and went to a restaurant called Penny Lane. Its Beetles themed. Actually Heather and Nathan go there every Friday to meet up with all the other wives and kids, but this was Caroline and I’s first time there. Its big and super easy to get your food and find a seat. Kind of like a self serve Panera, but bigger.
