First Day of School (not)
Yesterday was supposed to be the kids first day of school. Caroline was going into 3rd year of kindergarten and Nathan was starting his 1st year of kindergarten. They don’t really have preschool in Japan. Its all kindergarten before 1st grade of elementary school. At least at our school.
However, when I arrived at work yesterday, I noticed nobody wearing their Honda white uniforms, people were all standing outside the facility on their phones, other people were carrying out computer monitors. It looked like crime scene with looters. I was informed that someone at our facility was confirmed to have coronavirus. They told me to get my computer and I would be working from home until May 11th. The traffic getting out of there was pretty crazy.
Unfortunately, because of this, anyone associated with Honda is not allowed to go to school. Heather was out taking pictures before their first day of school when she got a call telling her not to bring the kids to school. So they got all ready for nothing.
So I came home and worked yesterday. I don’t have any type of workspace here and I need privacy. So I worked from a bed side night stand all day. Not ideal.
I ordered a desk on Amazon around 3pm yesterday and it was on our doorstep by 10am today. Life ain’t all that bad.
The kids were excited to help me put together my new desk!
So now we’re fully in this lock down. Getting the experience America has been getting the past few weeks. We are taking our temperature and documenting it every morning. We all feel healthy as of now.
