Yumoto Ski Lodge

Staying in Tochigi again this past weekend. Yumoto literally means “hot water source” as this is where many of the hot spring facilities pump their water from. We drove through Nikko and past Mount Nantai to the heart of the mountains of Tochigi to go skiing. Actually I didn’t snowboard this time. Caroline rented her own board for the first time and I worked with her on the kiddie hill all morning. Then in the afternoon she went up the lift with Heather to do the big runs. She did way better than we expected. We couldn’t believe how natural she looked. And she wanted to do it all by herself too. She wouldn’t even let us strap her feet into the bindings. I’ll attach all the pics and videos below. Nathan ended up wanting to rent a board too since Caroline kept hogging the one she rented. So in the afternoon while Caroline and Heather were up on the mountain, Nathan and I hung out at the kiddie area. There’s not much else to say. It was a laid back place on a beautifully clear day. And it might be the last chance of the year since its becoming rainy and in the 60’s now.
