Move In Day

I left the hotel around 8am this morning and got to our new house around 8:30am. The furniture company was supposed to bring all the furniture at 9am. However they decided to take care of 2 other people closer to the station first. So I got pushed back until 3pm. But it worked out better that way. I got to spend the first half of the day going shopping for cleaning supplies, food, and a few decorations. I went to a store called “Joyful Honda”. It is completely unrelated to Honda automotive company. It was like a Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Cabella’s, and Ikea combined into one store.

But it was great that I was able to get out to shop early, because I heard later in the day, all stores were packed and traffic was stuck for hours because there is a typhoon tonight. So people were stocking up on water and food. Luckily I missed all that traffic.

Here is the current status of the living area. Its clean and furnished at least. A little bare, but that will change once Heather and the kids get here and we can decorate a bit.

Then around 7:30pm tonight, a guy I work with came over with his wife and 3 kids and brought me some delicious pears! Apparently there is a pear farm near here and its pear season now. They were pretty awesome.

Kinda looks like an apple, but it’s a pear.

So that’s the status of our house for now. I’m still super thrilled with it and I think Heather and the kids are going to love it.
